The versatility and the direct contact with people are two things Ilona values most about her job. "Every day is different, which is what makes my work so fascinating," she says. "For me, a customer complaint is an opportunity to reinforce the relationship with our customer and improve our process." Ilona is proud of her work at Le Duc. "The variety between office work and being involved in production gives me the best of both worlds," she says. "I am happy to be part of a team that is committed to the highest quality and safety of our products."

Ilona den Boef : Quality Assurance Manager at Le Duc

Meet Ilona den Boef, Le Duc's passionate QA Manager. Ilona, who originally hails from the Dutch ‘t Gooi region, started her adventure with Le Duc in 2022. Leading a team of four specialists, she ensures the highest standards of quality in products, services, and processes within Le Duc.

With her background in quality and process management, Ilona is an indispensable link within Le Duc. The concept of quality must be carried throughout the company, from management to packers. Due to the advisory and facilitating role the QA department has, Ilona is often involved in a variety of processes.

"Together with my team, I make sure that every single product that leaves Le Duc is of high quality and safe for consumers," says Ilona. She achieves this in accordance with the principles of HACCP, a method that controls and eliminates hazards in food to ensure food safety. In addition, Le Duc is certified according to the GFSI recognized BRCGS/ IFS standards and multiple customer standards, which meet legal requirements and guarantee that products are produced safely and hygienically. Moreover, Ilona is also a member of the sustainability team and involved in Le Duc's sustainability agenda. Given the above, her motto is hardly surprising: "Today's quality is tomorrow's sustainability."

Just imagine: fresh wraps with Goat Cheese Bites and an elegant French vinaigrette, or spicy Chili Cheese Nuggets with grilled pineapple, black olives and red onion. We present surprising serving options, combined with delicious sauces and dips, so that your guests can mix and match to create a unique dining experience. We will give extra attention to shared dining, a concept that is still hugely popular. With shared dining, your guests can try different dishes without committing to just one choice, leading to more variety and less waste.

We are also embracing the power of blurring – the captivating mix of hospitality and retail – to create new and surprising food and beverage experiences. And let's not forget the art of pairing: combining dishes with matching beverages for a complete taste experience. You could serve a sparkling prosecco with light snacks, for example, or a robust red wine with savoury snacks. With the right combinations, you can take your dishes to the next level.

Take inspiration from the many possibilities to personalize your dishes and offer your guests an unforgettable experience. Whether you are after a cozy tapas evening or an elaborate dinner, by mixing and matching you can create something special every time. We hope this edition of Snackables will encourage you to experiment with new flavors and textures, and surprise your guests with unique combinations time and time again.

We hope you enjoy reading this magazine, and wish you all the best in the kitchen!
