What does Benjamin like best about his job? The variety. No two days are the same, and every malfunction requires a different approach. He gets the most satisfaction from resolving complex malfunctions. “Sometimes you spend a long time working on a problem. When everything is finally running as it should again, it really feels great.”
Outside of work, Benjamin enjoys spending time with friends, goes to the gym regularly, and loves a little adventure now and then. His favorite Le Duc snack? The mozzarella stick.
Benjamin also has clear goals for the future. He wants to further expand his knowledge of electrical engineering and hopes to take additional courses to that end. One thing remains central to this: continuing to learn and taking on new challenges.
His personal motto? “You can’t always roll a six.”
Benjamin Molendijk: Maintenance Technician, Technical Services
Behind a smoothly running factory is a team that ensures machines keep running and malfunctions are resolved quickly. Benjamin Molendijk is one of the people who contributes to this every day. As a maintenance technician in Technical Services, he focuses on resolving technical issues, performing maintenance work, and improving machines and equipment.
Benjamin has been working at Le Duc for nearly a year and a half now. He originally applied for the position of process operator, but during the hiring process, the head of Technical Services immediately saw opportunities within his own department. Based on Benjamin’s education and technical background, he asked if a position within Technical Services might appeal to him. Benjamin has since found his place there and feels completely at home in the field.
No two days are the same. One day it might be a conveyor belt that has stopped, the next a machine that has unexpectedly stopped working. It is precisely this variety that makes the work interesting for Benjamin. “You deal with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. That means you’re constantly learning.”
In his work, Benjamin collaborates extensively with production and operations. He believes good communication is essential in this regard. “If you communicate clearly with each other, you can adapt much more quickly and solve problems.”
