One of the products that we have recently developed in our test kitchen is the Vegan Chili Cheese Nugget. For this co-development process, our R&D team used its expertise and experience in
veggie snacks to work with the customer to create a
fantastic product. And successfully so! The Vegan
Chili Cheese Nugget has proven to be a
unique and popular product, which is
now being sold at one of the major
QSR chains in London. We hope
to be able to make many similar snacks.

A valuable collaboration

With the recent expansion of our Le Duc factory in Stellendam, we now not only have a beautiful and transparent test kitchen, but also an additional production hall. This hall was constructed in a mere 3 months! Our production capacity has now been expanded considerably. This was crucial, because the demand for vegetarian snacks and cheese snacks is very high. We produce the tastiest products six days a week, 24 hours a day. Every day, a whopping 10 million onion rings and millions of cheese snacks roll off the production lines in our factory! We're going full steam ahead so that everyone can enjoy the veggie snacks we're so proud of.

Back to the test kitchen, because this is where it's all happening. You can imagine this being a real tasting heaven. This is where we try out the tastiest veggie snacks filled with vegetables and cheese! Behind our glass wall, our work on our ingredients and preparation methods is 100% transparent. The test kitchen is where our quality control is done, so that we can continue to offer consistently high-quality products. Needless to say, we have all kinds of professional kitchen equipment such as ovens, deep fryers and warming stations, and an air fryer, of course. This is how we test and optimize all kinds of preparation methods. We also develop new veggie snacks here, often in collaboration with our customers. The test kitchen is linked to production, so anything that is developed can immediately be executed. This process reduces the development time for our customers. All in all, a great collaboration between R&D, production and our customers!

If you have ever visited us before, you are in for quite a surprise. Since this summer, a visit to Le Duc looks very different. We have massively expanded our premises! When you arrive at the main entrance, you will immediately notice the glass walls of the newly built test kitchen on the right. This is where our R&D team works. The test kitchen is located between the office and the production area, and as such it is the beating heart of the site. Thanks to this positioning, our product developers have easy access to the production hall. And needless to say, you will often find them there! As Famke Borgstijn, Senior Product Developer at Le Duc, explains: "I enjoy chatting to the production staff about the veggie snacks we make. Can we optimize certain products? Are there any ingredients or settings that we need to adjust? It is precisely these short communication lines and the excellent collaboration between R&D and production that allow us to make the best products!" This is also what makes it possible to scale up at short notice. Famke: "For a recent development process with a new major customer, for example, we only needed three months to get three brand new products including packaging ready for production!"
