Social Responsibility

Le Duc believes it is important that the world is dealt with consciously in the entire production chain. That is why there is a strict selection procedure for suppliers. All cheese suppliers must not only comply with European legislation, but also the working conditions in the production chain must meet strict requirements. Guus Misset (QA Manager Le Duc) and his team ensure that these agreements are checked and observed.

Food Issues

The increasing environmental awareness of consumers is reflected in the increasing demand for vegetarian and plant-based products2. Le Duc meets this need well with their vegetarian snacks by offering flexitarians and vegetarians a good alternative on the menu. In this way, on a small scale, we also do something good for the world!

There are currently about 7.6 billion people on our planet. It is estimated that by 2025 there will be no less than 10 billion1. This means that we have to organize our food production very differently in order to feed so many mouths. At the same time, it is necessary to be more economical with our energy, and to reduce CO2 emissions and plastic consumption. We therefore want to work towards a circular economy, with focus on reuse and recycling. Le Duc is actively committed to this throughout the entire production process. The packaging material for the appetizers has been reduced and recycled as much as possible. Residual food streams are converted into animal feed. The remaining residual waste is converted into biogas through a fermentation process. In this way, Le Duc is committed to a better planet.

We are increasingly aware of the impact that our choices and actions have on nature. Consumers believe it is important to contribute to a better world, and one way to do that is to make conscious food choices. Companies in the food industry are expected to contribute to a livable climate and social issues: they are expected to be socially responsible.
